YMCA  of the Rockies

Snow Mountain Ranch Pool

BAS1S designed an addition to the existing pool building on the Granby campus to house a zero entry splash pad with play features to compliment the swimming and diving currently available. The somewhat awkward entry was also redesigned for clearer access, with an expansive covered roof and an accessible covered walk from the adjacent parking, important when four or more feet of snow can stay around for months.

The exterior was modernized while keeping a band of south-facing windows to bring light deep into the building. Structurally, concrete masonry walls and a precast concrete double-T roof allow for the large spans while providing a low maintenance interior, essential given the high humidity.
