AIA, LEED AP, Principal Architect
The founder and Principal Architect of BAS1S is Steve Lane. A licensed architect in the States of Colorado, Wyoming and Arizona, Steve has over 20 years experience in the field. He received his Bachelor of Architecture from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute in Troy, New York. Moving to Denver in 1993, he was involved with many of the first loft renovation projects in Lower Downtown.
Established in Estes Park, BAS1S quickly grew from a single-person firm into a small company. The firm maintains local roots while providing services to clients across the Rocky Mountain region. Project sizes run the gamut from small to large, residential to commercial, single-family homes to multi-million dollar master planned communities.
Service and Recognition
Steve has designed homes pro bono for Habitat for Humanity of the Estes Valley, received an Outstanding Professionalism Award from Larimer County, and was listed in the Northern Colorado Business Report's inaugural '40 under 40' featuring up and coming professionals. He has served as a member of Estes Valley Planning Commission, Chairman of Park R-3 District Advisory Committee and Board member of the Estes Park Learning Place and Estes Park Board of Building Code Appeals.
Principal, Branding | Graphic Design
Amy comes from a business background rather than one of design. She earned her B.A. in Psychology and B.S. in Business Administration with an emphasis in Human Resources and Marketing from the University of Colorado in 1993. Her past business experience helps her understand the mechanics of how businesses run, and how they make money. As a result, the designs she creates focus on powerful and effective communication that increases business and revenue.
Amy’s record of public service includes: Quota Club Treasurer, Habitat for Humanity of Estes Valley Board Member, Families for Estes member and Lifelong Learning of Estes Valley School Board Member.
When not glued to her computer, Amy likes to run, hike, ski or anything that takes her outside.

Joining the staff in 2002, Matthew Heiser began with BAS1S as the company grew to accommodate its first large senior housing project. His work with the firm ranges from master planning, project programming and schematic design through construction documents and construction administration.
Matthew moved to Estes Park in 1998 where he has worked as a Project Manager with both Architecture and Civil Engineering firms. His passion for the profession and community led him to serve as a board member for Habitat for Humanity of Estes and the Estes Park Housing Authority.
When not at the office, Matthew's interests include exploring Rocky Mountain National Park, cycling, chess, fly-fishing and baseball.
